Pharma Employees Fear Job Loss

Randstad Pharma's Attachment Index provides quarterly insights into how attached employees are to their employers based on employee engagement and retention levels. Employee attachment is an important barometer for predicting employee productivity and impact. This quarter, the index also examines employees’ predictions for 2012, attitudes on career and fears around losing their jobs. Pharma is compared here with all sectors in general, IT, Finance & Accounting, Engineering and Healthcare respondents.

Top Randstad Pharma Results:

Pharma Employee Predictions for 2012:
• 32% of Pharma employees, more than any other sector, believe they will lose their jobs next year
• 51% believe their company will cut back on benefits
• Pharma employees are the least likely at 7% to believe they will receive a pay cut
• Pharma employees are more likely than all sectors to think their company will expand their workforce (56%)

Pharma Career Attitudes:
• 84% of Pharma employees believe their company has a great future
• 80% feel inspired to do their best
• 68% of employees enjoy going to work each day

Pharma Job Attachment:
• Pharma employees are the most likely of all sectors to consider taking a job with a new company in the next 6 months
• At 45% Pharma employees are the more likely than IT, Finance & Accounting, Engineering and Healthcare employees to seek a job with a new company
• Just 58% of Pharma employees feel secure in their employment, among the lowest levels of job security across the other sectors surveyed
